TUTOR METHODOLOGY

• Initial Assessment

During the initial lesson, our tutors quickly assess the student's particular strengths and weaknesses in the subject and customizes the lesson plan accordingly. Many students have found learning English at school extremely difficult and initially have little or no confidence in their own abilities. These same students often tend to flourish under private one-on-one tutoring and are amazed at how quickly they are able to pick up new topics when free from the distractions of the classroom environment.

• Customized lessons to suit your particular needs

An excellent private tutor will customize the entire lesson plan around each student's individual needs. This helps the student to progress much more quickly than in the group environment since the tutor can easily adapt the lesson to concentrate upon the individual's strengths or weaknesses in the subject. With private tutoring, the student does not have to compete for the teacher's attention and the lesson can progress as quickly or as slowly as required.

• Patient professional teaching style that encourages an active role from the student

Our tutors’ patient and professional teaching styles encourage the student to take a very active role in each lesson and to ask questions whenever they are unsure about a particular issue. The student should also feel comfortable making mistakes during the lesson without feeling self-conscious. After all, it is much better to make mistakes during a lesson than it is during a final examination.

Our tutors’ patient and professional teaching styles also help build up the student's confidence in a particular topic by selecting questions at the appropriate academic level and then gradually increasing their difficulty until the concept has been mastered. After all, taking a number of smaller steps is often much easier than taking one giant one.  

• Homework to help reinforce each lesson

Homework exercises are generally given at the end of each class to reinforce the material covered that week. Students are expected to take their homework and their studies seriously, since this will significantly increases their rate of progress.
